Karla Downey
Hi! I'm Karla, drummer and singer in the San Francisco Bay Area performing with a variety of groups.
Currently I'm the drummer and backing vocalist for an all female Queen tribute, THE KILLER QUEENS playing the role of "Regina Taylor" (for Roger Taylor). Before that I was the drummer for the Oakland based Prince Tribute, The Purple Ones. Both have some of the most exciting music to learn and play live!
I've been lucky to work with so many outstanding musicians and continue to to do so.
Karla has also been the lead/backing vocalist in Bay Area show bands such as the
10-piece Funky Little Shack and
10-piece Johnny Vegas & The High Rollers rock n soul revue,
plus performed as singer/dancer in
60’s inspired bands Project Pimento and Casino Royale,
She has also performed with rock, jazz, r&b groups -
Davey Pattison (Gamma/Robin Trower) & his 11-piece group Big Muddy,
singer with Berkeley Jazz School’s jazz vocal ensemble Passatempo,
singer for Shift rock n roll,
singer/drummer/bandleader for all female rock n roll band, LASH
plus many others…
